Tree Care
1. ✂ Trim That Trunk—Santa Style!
Give your tree a fresh start with a straight 2cm cut at the base before placing it in water. This reopens the tree’s “drinking straw” so it can guzzle up hydration like it’s Christmas Eve cocoa!
2. 🎅 Stand Tall, Sip Deep
Use a proper Cinco tree stand (or equivalent) that holds at least 4 litres of water. Your tree will drink a lot in the first 24–48 hours—like a caroler after their fourth round of “Jingle Bells.”
Pro Tip: Add a tree skirt or sleigh-shaped stand cover to dress it up and hide the base. Instant Christmas charm!
3. ❄ Chill Until Showtime
Not decorating yet? No worries! Keep your tree in a cool, shaded spot outside (or in a garage), in a bucket of water, and out of the wind and sun. Think of it as a pre-Christmas nap.
4. 🕵Water Watch = Daily Elf Duty
Check the water every day — yes, even on the weekends! If the water level drops below the trunk, your tree will seal over and stop drinking (rude). You’ll have to trim again to get it sipping.
Elf Tip: Set a daily phone reminder titled: “Water Your Tree, Ya Festive Legend!”
5. 🔥 Avoid the Heatwave from the North Pole
Keep your tree away from heaters, sunny windows, fireplaces, and TVs.
Warmth = dry needles = sad tree.
Cold + water = festive freshness.
6. 🌲 Four Weeks of Tree-tastic Joy
With a little love, your real tree should stay merry and majestic for up to 4 weeks. That’s through the carols, presents, and even New Year toasts!
7. 🎅 No Naughty List Refunds
We can’t know if you’ve followed the steps (we’re good, but we’re not Santa), so we can’t offer refunds if your tree doesn’t last. But with care, it’ll be the most wonderful tree of the year!
🎀 BONUS TINSEL TIPS!
🎄 Fluff the Branches
Gently shape the branches when you set up your tree. A little fluffing goes a long way to help it look full and photo-ready.
🍯 Try a Touch of Sugar or Preservative
If you’re feeling fancy, a splash of sugar or commercial Christmas tree preservative can help with needle retention. Just don’t go full mad scientist—plain water is still the hero.
📸 Take a “Before & After” Shot
Capture the magic! First day vs Christmas morning — you’ll thank yourself later.
🐾 Pet-Proof the Tree
Have curious cats or mischievous pups? Tie the tree to the wall with clear fishing line or skip fragile ornaments on lower branches.
🌟 Lights First, Decorations Later
Always string your lights first. It’s easier and keeps ornaments from crashing down like fruitcake at a summer BBQ.
